Rumors have surfaced online that the company Hewlett Packard is thinking about abandoning the release of personal computers and plans to focus on such areas as supercomputers, server hardware and software.
The publication reported Digitimes. The South Korean giant was named as a likely buyer Samsung. Similar information was also published by another fairly popular publication - commercial times, which also claims that negotiations on a possible deal began last year.
A similar path was once chosen for itself by another well-known manufacturer of personal computers - IBMwho sold his business Lenovo and focused on other, more profitable areas. It is quite likely that Hewlett Packard also has already "grown" out of the personal computer business, which every year becomes more complex and less profitable.
According to analysts, such a deal is quite likely. However, it is doubtful that it will take place this year. It is also doubtful that Hewlett Packard stop making printers. At least in the near future, this business still brings the company a stable income and its position here is exceptionally strong.
Herself HP has not yet commented on these rumors.
