NXP Semiconductors is a manufacturer of electronic components (semiconductors, microcircuits, sensors…) from the Netherlands. The company's products are used in a wide variety of industrial and consumer digital and analog electronics used in a wide variety of industries. The company consists of several divisions, each of which works in its own direction: Automotive, Identification, Multimarket Semiconductors and others. It is worth noting separately NXP Software is an independent multimedia software company.
History NXP originates in 1999 when Royal Philips Electronics acquired an American company VLSI Technology Inc. In 2005 the leadership Philips decided to spin off its acquisition into a separate independent company. This process took almost a year. So, on August 2, 2006 appeared NXP Semiconductors. Its name comes from an abbreviation of the phrase "Next eXPerience". About 20 percent of shares Philips left behind. The rest was bought by investors.
For the first time, products under the new brand were demonstrated on September 1, 2009 at the Berlin Electronics Fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung - International Radio Exhibition).
