Despite the fact that the company Nokia Siemens Networks is one of the largest in the world in the production of telecommunications equipment, for the past two years it has only been making losses. Massive layoffs are just one way to deal with them.
The company has previously announced plans to lay off 17,000 people. This will happen gradually throughout 2013. Thus, the company plans to save about 1 billion euros annually.
And here are the first cuts. They will happen in the very near future in Germany. A total of 1,900 people will be laid off. Reductions will also take place in Finland, where another 1,200 people will remain unemployed.
The union has already announced its opposition to the management's decision. However, all he can do is only try to reduce the number of laid-off workers.
